What Are Chakras ?

In Sanskrit, “chakra” means wheel, and regarding the human being, chakra represents the wheels of energy.

This prana energy flows through different energy channels called “nadis” in the human body, and we have 72,000 nadis which meets at 114 minor junctions and 7 significant junctions. These seven crucial junctions are called 7-chakras in the human body.
apart from these 7-chakras, the human body has 3-major nadis called Ida, Pingla And Sushumna.
These seven chakras are not physical, and one cannot dissect the body and see it, but these chakras hold more than biological significance in the body’s function.
How Many Chakras are there ?
There are seven Main chakras in Human body.
The seven main chakras are all placed along your spine, each in a specific location.
1. Root chakra (Muladhara chakra)
The root chakra is located in the base of the spine or the “perenium” area between the genitals and anus outlet.
· It is the basis of human existence. It has an earth element, and it signifies completeness, security, well connected to the roots “the earth” and a strong foundation.
· Suppose if anything has a weak foundation will it survive with all the chaos? Not at all; a strong foundation is a must to conquer anything in life.
- The root chakra, if blocked, a human being is likely to suffer from arthritis, constipation, bladder and
- colon problems while it is also connected to the sense of smell, and it usually resembles the colour red
- referring to the logic, realistic thinking, and order in our lives.
The root chakra is also connected with the pineal gland, which produces a hormone called melatonin.
It is a must for someone to conquer their goals or any other thing. One must have a well-functioning and robust root chakra (Muladhara chakra)
If the root chakra is not healthy or the functioning of the energy flow is hindered in any way, then one suffers the constant anxiety, fear, incompleteness, detached and is unable to do well since the foundation is not strong enough to uphold the other aspects of life firmly.
2 . Sacral Chakra (Swadisthan Chakra)
Sacral chakra also known as Swadhistana. It is located under your belly button. The wheel is primarily responsible for sexual and creative energy. Someone with the active sacral chakra tends to be a creator or has creative abilities and lives life more intensely.
This chakra, if blocked, can cause problems on the bladder, lymphatic system, pelvis, large intestines, female reproductive organs, urinary tract infections, lower back pain, and impotency. Therefore, the chakra can be kept in shape through Bellydancing, loving partnerships, and yoga.
The colour orange represents it, and it is connected to the sense of taste. It develops from eight to fourteen years of age when growing up.
3. Solar Plexus Chakra
Solar plexus chakra or Manipura is located in our stomach area, specifically the upper abdomen. The moment they are disrupted, you suffer from ulcers, heartburn, eating disorders, indigestion.
And it is responsible for making sure our self-worth, self-confidence, and self-esteem are in shape at any given time for the improvement of the human body.
Someone with disrupted energy flow in manipura suffers anxiety, lacks self-confidence, suffer from eating disorder.
This chakra is connected to the sense of sight and adrenal glands while being represented by the colour yellow, which symbolizes energy.
4. Heart Chakra
The heart chakra can be called Anahata and is located near your heart in the centre of your chest. And it is also responsible for your ability to love and show compassion to anyone.
In most cases, when the chakra is compromised, people tend to suffer from heart problems, asthma, and weight issues. At the same time, it is possible to notice loneliness, insecurity, isolation, and negative emotions, such as jealousy, envy, anger, distrust, and wrath in people affected.
Sense of touch is connected to the heart chakra, and it is resembled by the colour green. It develops in our bodies at ages between twenty-one and twenty-eight years.
5. Throat Chakra
The throat chakra, better known as the Vishuddha chakra, is located in your throat, making it possible to communicate verbally. It is represented by the colour blue.
Someone with active throat chakra tends to have more exaggerated abilities and occult power, and for a normal human being, he/she will be like a superhuman.
When disrupted, the effects noticed are voice, throat, teeth, gums, and mouth problems. At the same time, you are not spared from conversations such as gossiping, speaking without thinking, and having trouble speaking your mind.

6. Brow/Third Eye Chakra
Third Eye Chakra, which is also known as Ajna, is located between your eyes on the forehead and is responsible for gut instinct, intuition ,and imagination in most cases while represented by indigo colour.
It is connected to the sense of thought, the ability to rationalize, use logic while conducting analysis to be able to reach reasonable conclusions.
Once it is interrupted, people tend to suffer from headaches, sight issues, concentration, and hearing problems. 7. Crown Chakra

It is connected to our brain, nervous system, and all organs in cases whereby it is blocked. You tend to be narrow-minded, skeptical, or stubborn, while if it is functioning well, it will assist in keeping all other chakras open for bliss and enlightenment.
More so, it aides the ability to overcome all barriers created by the laws of nature, such as heightened spiritual powers and even the ability to create miracles.
This particular chakra develops from forty-three and forty-nine years within the human body and resembled a violet-white color.
